I've had many students with many different breeds
compete successfully in obedience, tracking, herding and agility and many other students
who developed wonderful relationships with their pets, resolving various behavior problems
on the way.
I've successfully worked with dogs with behavior problems such as shyness, fearfullness, fear aggression, dog aggression, nervousness, seperation anxiety and many others.
I have been involved with animals all my life and have been active in dog sports since 1975. I've been teaching people how to train their dogs since 1980. I have taught beginner through advanced obedience and rally, behavior modification, conformation handling, tracking, agility and sheep herding. I taught for many years as a volunteer, then professionally at Triangle Training Center, Raleigh, NC for 6 years and at my own training facility in North Carolina for 10 years, then moved to Oklahoma. I have been teaching private lessons and herding classes in Morrison, Ponca City and Tulsa since then.

I've personally put
many advanced obedience and herding titles on my own dogs and owner- handled my first
conformation dog to her Championship and Best of Breed wins, as well as putting
Championship points on many other dogs. My methods are very gentle and rely heavily on behavior modification techniques and "clicker" training. Please check the "Terri's Dogs" page to see some of the wonderful dogs that have shared their life with me. These wonderful companions have taught me so much about how special the bond between animal and human can be.

Although dogs have consumed most of my time and effort in my
life, I do have other interests. I am a Tolkien devotee (Lord of the Rings) and first-generation Star Trekkie. I have dabbled in the SCA (Society for Creative Anarchism), mainly in the fiber arts of weaving and spinning wool. |
