I am an active member of Belgian Tervuren Rescue and have rescued my share of dogs, both Tervs and other breeds, as well as mixes.  All of my rescues are in permanent, wonderful homes and I hope that I will continue to be that lucky with all my future rescues.

For more information on adopting a Belgian Sheepdog, contact Teri Meredyth at teri2ns@earthlink.net.

In 2004 I wasn't able to do as much rescue, but I was able to temporarily foster a sweet 9-month old Belgian Malinois girl found in the Ark City, KS shelter.  I also rescued a lovely little 8 week old Malinois puppy that was in the shelter near Oklahoma City.  Both girls have since found their forever homes.

Riley_2.jpg (17188 bytes) Riley is a Belgian Sheepdog I found in the Stillwater, OK Humane Society in 2003.  He had been picked up as a stray at about 6 months old, placed with a gentleman who subsequently lost his job and had to return him to the shelter.   Luckily, I found him and  worked with the Belgian Sheepdog Rescue coordinator, Teri Meredyth, to find him a home.  **Riley was aopted in 2003**  He is now living in Texas and thinks he is in heaven.  His new owners say that he is wonderful, sleeps in their daughter's bed, and is a joy to have in their household.
Jayda (Rose) was rescued in March 2002.  She is a Belgian Malinois puppy that was turned in to rescue at about 3 months of age with her rear left leg broken just above the stifle joint.   She was a very bright, active and outgoing puppy and keeping her still to let her leg heal was interesting!  Her leg had been broken for several weeks when I got her and it was too late for a cast.  Jayda has been adopted through the  Belgian Malinois Rescue program and is now in a wonderful home in Nebraska.  This is Jayda in her new home at 10 months old.  They say she never limps unless she's really tired (probably from playing ball all day!).  Didn't she grow up to be a beautiful girl! Prince.JPG (24788 bytes) Prince (aka Sweet Boy) was rescued from the Durham shelter in December 2000.  He is a German Shepherd/Tervuren mix and has the sweetest, happiest, goofiest personality I have ever had the pleasure to know.  He is in an absolutely wonderful home in Pennsylvania with a lady and her two daughters and a Norweigan Elkhound playmate.  He gets to play with all the neighborhood kids and has his own pool in the summer, which he plays in like a 2-year child.  It was an honor to have had this dog in my house for a while.
